Located 500 m away from the Notre Dame University, the aim of this project is to create a vibrant and dynamic environment for the students separating pragmatically the private study zones from the common areas where scholars can meet for exchange. The idea is to create 120 cloned dormitories mixed with traditional ingredients, retails, cafeterias and offices. In order to create such quantity in a hexagonal plot, a matrix is a must. The strategy is to create one dynamic cell unit and then replicate it. Hence, inspiring from the honeycomb replicated structure, the dynamic cell of a single unit dorm is a distorted wax. The cells replicate with a hop in order to leave spaces for gardens in each story level and after several iterations the honeycomb will take shape. The whole structure rotates in order to fit in a hexagonal plot while maximizing the outdoor landscape to allow public access.
